Act, Sing & Dance all under the one roof!

Weekly Term Classes

Weekly Term Classes – Acting, Singing & Dancing

Stage Left schools operate weekly term-time sessions outside of school hours. Each school accepts students aged 4-16 who are then divided into four groups on an age basis.

Each group takes every subject in turn, learning to sing, dance & act, so that by the end of each weekly session they have worked in all three disciplines.

SENIOR SCHOOL - structure

Students are divided into three groups on an age basis.

  • Group 1 6-9 year olds
  • Group 2 9-12 year olds
  • Group 3 12-16 year olds

There is a maximum of 20 students per group in order to ensure that each student can be given personal attention and the opportunity to participate fully in class activities.

Stage Left sessions run weekly during school terms for either three hours (weekend schools) or two hours (weekday schools). Every group explores each discipline - acting, singing and dancing each week. There is a short break between the second and third class for students to have a drink and snack.

STAGE KIDS CLASSES -  4-6 year olds - ACTING, SINGING AND DANCING

This is a special class for 4-6 year olds. With a maximum of 18 per class students explore the performing arts in a fun, creative and nurturing atmosphere. Just like their older counterparts Stage Kids explore all three disciplines- singing, dancing and acting.

Stage Kids runs on the same day as the senior school.

Small Classes, personal attention

Every Stage Left school has no more that 20 students per class with a minimum of 3 teachers and a manager. This high ratio of staff to students allows us to give personal attention to the growth and development of each child.

Teachers

Stage Left teachers are all professionals in their field with extensive teaching experience. Our students benefit by learning from tutors who don't just teach it ...they do it!

Performance

There is nothing like performing to inspire development and provide motivation. When working towards a performance your child's skills and confidence will develop in leaps and bounds.

That is why each Stage Left school puts on a minimum of two performances every year. One will be a presentation of class work, the other a full scale production.

And more good news, parents will not be required to sew costumes!

Fee structure

Fees are payable on a term by term basis & include all class materials - scripts, CD’s , music as well as specialist workshops with guest teachers. Parents will not be expected to sew or buy costumes. Students may be asked to provide some basic items but most costumes will be provided by STAGELEFT.

Drama classes

Our drama classes focus on developing confidence, imagination, self expression and team building skills. Students work on improvisation, voice projection, writing their own material, performing works to invited audiences, theatre games and mime. They will also work closely with scripts and poetry from a wide variety of sources including theatre as well as film and TV material – everything from Shakespeare to Neighbours!

Dance classes

Although the emphasis at Stage Left is on jazz dance we strive to offer a variety of styles. Each class will cover different aspects of technique as well as work on routines. Students are encouraged to contribute to the creative process and will often devise their own dance and movement pieces. The class will focus on developing each students poise, co-ordination and confidence with movement.

Singing classes

Each singing class will incorporate work on different aspects of vocal technique such as breath control, rhythm and pitch, vocal tone and flexibility. Song performance will include work on different materials- folk, musical theatre as well as pop styles. Students are encouraged to find their own interpretations of songs and to develop a creative approach to performing them. There will be opportunities for solo, duo and harmony work.
